When I was a kid, I dreamed of creating the images that would end up on billboards along the roads. I didn’t study film at first, but during my last semester of university, I realized I wanted something different. So, I applied for a runner position at a photography studio in Lima, got in, and completely fell in love with the industry. I started in the production department, doing whatever I could, but I wanted more.
That led me to take makeup courses, and before I knew it, I was working with Peruvian magazines, doing makeup for editorials, social events, and fashion shows. At the time, I thought I’d be doing that forever. But around 2015, things shifted—I started assisting a stylist and art director in fashion, and for the next two years, I worked as a stylist, creating images for magazines, retail brands, and TV commercials.
Then, a friend told me a Production Designer was looking for an art assistant. Fashion was amazing (and still is!), but I was curious about the world of music videos, narrative films, and set design. That job changed everything. I learned so much—not just on set, but also about pre-production, budgeting, sourcing, and creating visuals that helped bring stories to life.
Since 2020, I’ve been working as a Production Designer, splitting my time between Lima and London (currently based in London). My work spans commercials, music videos, short films, fashion films, photography, and two feature films. I love being on set, making things happen, and bringing ideas into reality.
